82305_984 Over the past couple of weeks I have been “field testing” a pair of the new Patagonia Skeena River chest waders. Let me tell you these are some of the best waders I have ever worn. Not only do I look sexy and more appealing to the opposite sex, these waders actually catch me more fish!! I now have the ability to walk over hot coals and literally fly to those spots on the river that were until now inaccessible. My casting has not only improved greatly in accuracy but I am now able to cast a whole fly line and meters of backing.

On a more serious note folks, These waders from Patagonia are really quite impressive. They have thought a lot about the little things, like the easy conversion from chest to waist. Simply undoing a clip on the braces they convert from chest wader to waist and visa versa without having to remove your fly vest in just seconds. A waterproof phone/camera pouch helps keep everything nice and safe if you do happen to take a swim. Heavy duty gravel guards keep all the nasties out of your boots and keep your laces nicely out of the way of any snags. They are constructed of a very abrasion resistant, waterproof fabric that is very comfortable to wear (even on those warmer days) and supple enough for extended hikes through the scrub. These are surely good enough to give some of the other high end wader brands some serious competition. Priced from $519.95
